Enough

Is anyone else getting tired of all these people who have Garage Band and automatically think they have musical talent. I'm getting sick of band names for one person. Honestly, just use your name or get a real band together. Don't get me wrong, there are some great people out there who do really well, like Owl City, that guy's tight. But for real, he could just go by his real name.
MAC=/=MUSICAL TALENT
But, if you wanna hear somebody good, check out Melani Shwartz:

Good stuff right thurrr :)

Ohhhh, today was Day of Silence, which was.... interesting. If you don't know what it is, you don't speak for an entire day to recognize all of the people who have been silenced by judgment and stereotypes just because of their orientationn. So yes, it is a gay rights thing :P

Tick, Clap, Tick Tick Tick Clap, Bass Bass Bass Clap

What Up Man- The Cool Kids
Haha sorry, awesome song. Wow, I really want to party. If I wasn't so busy over spring break, I'd totally have a party. Oh well.
So it's my last day at my grandpa's house in Michigan. It's been pretty cool getting to see him =) He's a really sweet guy. I just wish I could have known him back in his younger days, cuz right now he's 95 or something, and he's been through two or three strokes, so he's not entirely himself. But if you've ever wondered where I get the whole constantly singing thing, it's from him. He sings allllll the time. He sings when he's by himself. He sings when he has company over. He sings when he's watching basketball, football, at restaurants, on his porch, everywhere! It's actually really funny. Plus, Ironwood (the town we're in) is one of those towns where everybody knows each other, so whenever we're out at restaurants and people hear him singing super loud everybody waves and goes Hey Tony! It's hilarious. The only thing I can't stand about coming to visit him, or any old people i guess, is when they eat. Because when you get older you're less aware of these kinds of things, they all make suuuuper gross sounds when they eat. But it's ok, cuz I'm gonna be exactly like that when I'm old too.
My dad picked me up after school and we drove straight here. Besides talking to my grandpa, all I've been doing is watching movies and sleeping. I slept till like, two yesterday. It was sooooo nice, I feel great. It's been one of those awesome lazy weekends. But I'm coming back tonight, and then Wednesday morning I'm leaving for the airport to go see my bro in Missoula, Montana. I'm really excited because I haven't seen him in almost a year, I think..... yup.
I'm hoping everybody's having a killer break so far.
With Love,
Colin =]
PS: read through some of the comments on some of my recent post. There's this really funny dude who thinks the shit. He keeps throwin shit my way; I think he's funny :P

Objects

So today in gym, this girl comes up to me and asks, "Colin, do you think I should get longer shorts," as she's wearing some tiny ass booty shorts. Anyways, I actually thought about it, and I was like "You can do whatever you want. I guess it's really about how comfortable you are with turning yourself into an object." And the weird part is that she looked so shocked. She actually got pretty mad, but it's so true. So many girls rely so much on getting guys by showing off their looks, that they completely forget about everything else. Sure, booty shorts are hot, but it doesn't really matter if I can't have a real conversation with you.
Just something interesting to think about.

Stupid Locker

So I had a pretty good day, nothing too big happened. I was expecting to just grab my stuff, go home and have a nice relaxing night. WRONG. When I got to my locker, I packed up all my stuff and closed the door attempting to leave with Marlee(<3). But when I tried to close my locker, it wouldn't shut. I kept trying to close it, but it wouldn't budge. Now, normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but I get pretty angry when my locker is preventing my hasty escape from the prison that some call high school. So in a desperate attempt to leave, I kicked my locker, and it shut.... too far. The door literally got jammed inside of my locker. Sure it was hilarious, but I needed to go, I couldn't lock the door (obviously), and I had left my ipod in there. Ugh. So hopefully I can find a friendly janitor tomorrow.
In other news, haircut! It's kind of short, it's a new style I guess. There's a pic on facebook.
Oh! Also I performed at the Variety show on Friday. Everyone did an excellent job. I sang I Will Follow You Into the Dark, by Death Cab For Cutie. Beau Johnson played guitar, and I think it went really well. There should be a video up soon enough.

What's Good =)

So once again, it's been a while since my last post. I don't know, lately I just haven't had time to write. A lot of my time has been put towards th e musical. And when I'm not doing the musical, I'm catching up with friends and school. And when I'm not walking along the thin rope balancing my school work with my immense amount of friends, I'm sleeping, charging my battery only to go through it all again. It's like Prometheus man. Everyday, I go through the wear and tear of school, and when I'm ready to go to sleep, I get a couple hours of musical practice. Then when I'm most definitely ready to crash like a tsunami into my appealing bed, I have to do homework. And when I'm finally beckoned into my bed, I get to rest for what seems like a moment before I wake up and have to do it all again.
But, everyone's work (including mine) on the musical has paid off. We've had two perfromances of Guys and Dolls so far, and they've gone excellently. It's a really fun show, and everything is working out seamlessly :) for the most part. You should come see the show. Ask me about show times and I'll hook you up.
If you were wondering, things are going great with Marlee. We had an awesomely spectacular Valentine's Day. I surprised her by blindfolding her and taking her to her favorite restaurant. I reserved her favorite waiter who got us a great spot overlooking some street in uptown. We ate a great dinner while over looking a beautiful sunset. Afterwards, we went back to my place, cuddled by the fire, and watched Juno. I had planned to take her to Lake Calhoun and take a walk, but she looked like she was freezing, so I changed plans. But we both loved the night; it was incredibly romantic.
Tonight, taking care of some homework, then cell group. Have a good night :) peace
